From Poets on the Page. Day 3 of the
December Mini-challenge
Today’s task is to write a poem of
encouragement to continue.
Suckitup
It may
not be fair
What
happens
It may
not be right
It may be
the worst
It may be
unspeakable
But we
suck
it
up
Carry on
Do what
we must
Keep
ourselves going
Bounce
back
Step
forward
Feint
sideways
Whatever
it takes
Carry
on
Carry
On
People
Its intriguing to me, Annis, to see what your poem brings up in me. For some reason I see a dance. This section, for example, just screams "Movement!"

Excellent & very encouraging for me.
Thanks, Julie. xoA
DeleteI like this...a different tone than what I generally expect from you...authoritative...and for me this came across as encouraging yes...but with some undercurrents of anger and frustration...could be in part my headspace at the moment but that's one of the cool things about poetry I think. I love the spacing at the end of each stanza. ..adds emphasis...a sense of that directing finger.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, Anna. Yes, it's a different tone. Like a "tough love" pep talk. Sometimes you have to switch it up in order to make an impact. Thank you. xoA
