2016 OctPoWriMo - #1

Time Keeper

My grandmother’s wrist watch
That round-faced gold Bulova,
Wound each day by twisting
The delicate stem east of three,
Handed down to me, eldest
Granddaughter, now at nine
The designated keeper of time.

  1. So much packed into this poem. It brings me back to simpler times and is filled with emotion. Well done, Annis! Very happy you're writing along with us at OctPoWriMo again.

  2. Really enjoyed this one, Annis, for I have the very same Bulova watch given to me by my grandmother! Especially love that last line: How could we be keepers of time at the age of 9? But, we are.

    1. Beth I love that your grandmother had the same watch and you then received it, too. Yep. We were allowed to be kids, but we had to take responsibility, too. Thanks for your comments. xoA
