Day 31 - OctPoWriMo: Mysteriousness

Mysteriousness

Mystified, stunned about New
York, yet drawn to
See what the hell
Transpired. I wonder how we’ll
Explain to our children
Reassure them about this world
In which they must make a life
Of meaning, a life that encompasses
Unwavering goodness and love.
Squeeze them tight
Never let them feel our despair
Enable their childhood’s rightful
Sweetness, their trust undiluted, Help them grow
Strong     Sincere    Undeterred

  1. Until I read your poem, I didn't even know something had happened in New York. Yes, mystified. Well done.

    1. They will, Barb. As my mom used to say, they have a long time to be grown up so let them be children as long as we can. Thank you. xoA

  4. I heard about it late last night, just before going to sleep - an awful event and inexplicable why people do what they do. Thank you Annis, for your message of hope and faith in good

  5. I love how you end.
I agree that children should stay children for as long as they want/can. I unfortunately have to witness how mine need to grow up much faster than others due to family struggles. I wish I could shield them. I tried. I can't any more. And it hurts.

I love your last three lines. " Strong Sincere Undeterred" What a powerful way to end this poem!

Thank you for sharing your art and thoughts with us throughout the month, the prompts, for your thoughtful comments...
    It was appreciated.
    XO

  9. A good lesson is there for the parents, for our children are deprived of their rightful enjoyment due to parents busy schedule.
